New Year: TPN Charges Nigerians On Good Governance, Inclusiveness In 2023 Elections

A Non-Governmental Organization,NGO for promoting good governance and true democratic system, Turning Point Nigeria,TPN in the country has tasked Nigerians on good governance and inclusiveness by the next President of Nigeria in the coming general elections on  February 25.

As we enter this year 2023, let it be a year of ‘Turning Nigeria’ around for the better.

We can do that by understanding what Nigeria means to us as its citizen. What is your concept of this country?

“Turning Point Nigeria”s  concept of this country is where good governance and inclusiveness allows every citizen to reach his or her potential”, he noted.

The premier leaders of Nigeria where brilliant enough to recognize our diversity in terms of tribes, religion, and regional differences that since independence they have tried  to form governments that reflected the Nigeria character.

This election of  February presents this generation an opportunity to continue to carry out that legacy. The legacy of Federal Character, the legacy of power sharing between the North and South, and between Muslims and Christians.

Turning Point Nigeria,TPN  is highly impressed with youths’ enthusiasm on the coming election and our hope is very high on the change it will bring to Nigeria.

This is our moment, and we will use it to  put Nigeria on the right path. This election is going to be about fairness to all Nigerians, time to recognize our multi-tribal make-up and ask ourselves the honest question, how fair have I been to others that are not from my tribe.

What have  I  done to be fair to others not from my tribe?  Will Nigeria survive with one tribe domination or one religion domination.

What is the right thing to do in a multi-tribal multi-religion nation like Nigeria. After eight years of Northern, and a Muslim Presidency, will it be fair for the “a nation replace it with another Northerner or another Muslim”.

Peace and Justice can reign only when equity and fairness are allowed to prevail. The goal of Turning Point Nigeria is to build a country where governance is achieved through equity and fairness.

So, in keeping with our objective, Turning Point Nigeria endorses Peter Obi for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We call upon all Nigerians who wish the best for this country to vote for him in February.

Our endorsement of Peter Obi is not based solely on our call for fairness and equity. It is also formed on his personal qualification among the other two leading candidates ; Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ATIKU Abubakar.

These two candidates are not qualified to replace President Muhamadu  Buhari for the sake of fairness and simple  reason that  they are both Muslims like Buhari.

Nigeria needs a Christian President as our recent history has shown. Obasanjo a Christina after eight years in power handed  over to a Muslim, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, then Yar’Adua a Muslim was succeeded by Jonathan, a Christian then Buhari, a Muslim.

This is the pattern since the third Republic started in 1999. Our democracy has been sustained; Nigeria is not ready to break this pattern that has been working so far. Peter Obi candidacy is the perfect fit for continuation of a successful system.

PDP nomination of  Abubakar Atiku as their Presidential candidate is a complete disrespect of the concept of Nigeria known to all of us and our primier leaders.

Well meaning Nigerians understand that power switch between North and South  has been respecting that from the start. A party like PDP that has no respect for our values and traditions should not get our votes in the upcoming election in February.

Bola Tinubu, the candidate for APC who is a Southerner and Muslim, forget the importance of religion to Nigerians.

Both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria take their faith seriously and it reflect in all their human activities so to tell a Nigerian that faith of our leader does not matter shows how little APC thinks of Nigerians.

Christians have supported Buhari government for eight years waiting penitently for their turn on the seat only for Tinubu to tell them that is not important for our President to be a Christian or Muslim.

To make matter worse, he chose a fellow Muslim as his running mate.  Does truth matter to Tinubu, this is the same man that who  did not run with Buhari in 2015 because both are Muslims. If Bola Tinubu cannot act on principle, he does not deserve your vote.

A courageous principal leader is what our country needs right now, and Bola Tinubu is lacking in these areas. He is only running on self-ego and ambition. Nigeria is a country and belongs to all of us. We cannot allow our country to be used to satisfy a personal need of one person.

Bola Tinubu may have all the success in the past, we cannot use Nigeria Presidency to compensate him, he is old and has a lot of health challenges.

He should relax and enjoy his retirement and  allow the country to move forward under the leadership of Peter Obi.

Politicians in APC and PDP have been going around the country telling people don’t waste your votes.

Voting for Peter Obi is not wasting your votes, it is a vote of conscience,  vote for real and democratic change in Nigeria.

The old politicians that have failed us repeatedly believes in their power to rig elections but this coming February our youths and the entire country have a surprise for them.

Those who believe that power belongs to the people will never say that voting is a waste, Turning Point Nigeria believe in the voting power of Nigerian citizens, as we ask you to use that power to elect Peter Obi of the Labour Party of Nigeria as the President of Nigeria, come this February.

He has the capacity, the character, the compassion and  patriotism to lead Nigeria. He met the federal character policy of our new change of power from North to south, from Muslim to Christian.

Then the icing on the cake is that Peter Obi is also an Igbo man. Nigeria is long overdue for a President of Igbo extraction.  Turning Point Nigeria,TPN has  faith in our fellow Nigerians to follow their conscience and do the right thing for our country in 2023.
