INPA honours Ondo, Imo First ladies, today

The Imo Newspaper Publishers Association (INPA) will today (Friday, 20th September, 2019) roll out the drums and cymbals in honour of the wife of the governor of Ondo State, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.
Also, to be honoured by the association is the wife of governor of Imo State, Barrister Ebere Ihedioha.
The ceremony holds at the highbrow Main Event Hall of Rockview Hotel in Owerri, Imo State.
The publishers are honouring the Ondo State First Lady for her contributions to the fight against breast cancer and the empowerment of the girl-child in the country.
Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu through her pet-project Breast Cancer Awareness of Nigeria (BRECAN) and BEMORE has enhanced the lives of many people especially women.
It was gathered that the awareness she has created has helped in the reduction of breast cancer.
She equally assisted victims of breast cancer to obtain proper free medical treatment at home and overseas.
Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu has also through BEMORE mounted skill acquisition programmes for the girl-child in the field of solar panel manufacturing and installation.
The association described Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu as a worthy daughter of the state more so when she has extended her humanitarian gestures to the state.
The association said it also deemed it necessary to honour Barrister Ihedioha for her empowerment of women in the state within the very short period she has been in office.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Mr. Henry Ekpe and Publicity Secretary, Modestus Nwamkpa, the association requested its invitees to be seated by 9:00am.
