..I have no hand in Okafor’s house demolition – Uju .Calls for deep investigation of the matter

The immediate past Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), Imo Government House, Owerri, and the House of Representatives candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West Federal Constituency, Hon. Kingsley Uju Chima, has said that he was never involved in any form in the demolition of the house of Prince Henry Okafor, the House of Representatives Candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Hon. Uju, who made the denial while speaking to newsmen in Owerri last weekend, said that he did not know how the thing was planned, not to talk of participating in any manner. He called for deep and proper investigation of the matter to enable the world know the real truth.
In his words, “Henry Okafor is my very good friend. We have been together for a long time. I do not have any problem with him. I don’t see why I should participate or plan to demolition his house. I want to say that I, Kingsley Uju Chima, has no hands in any measure in the demolition of the House of Henry Okafor. I don’t think I have any reason to get involved in the demolition of the house of my colleague. Getting involved in the demolition is primordial and barbaric. I don’t believe in the politics of demolition.
“The demolition in question, from the information I have gotten, is as a result of a land dispute they have in the area. According to people, the land dispute has lingered for over 20 years. Why should I put hand in the land dispute that does not concern me? So, the rumour is a cheap blackmail.
“I hereby sympathize with the Okafor family over the destruction. I also want to condemn in strong terms the demolition of the house. If there are court issues, I advise that appropriate measures should be taken to resolve it.”Again, what happened at Osemotto should be deeply investigated to know whether it is a land dispute or any other thing, that will be the best way of knowing the truth of the matter”.
On the issue of the appearance of his name in another political party, Democratic Alliance (DA), Hon. Uju, who expressed shock over the development, said that he contested primaries in the Action Alliance (AA) and won, saying that he is not a member of the DA, and has no business with the party.
He however expressed joy that the leadership of the party, DA, has officially written the INEC, informing them that he is not a member of the party. “I don’t have any problem with the INEC. I have never participated or identified with the Democratic Alliance, and the party leadership has officially written the INEC, saying that I am not their member. Some people did it so that I will be disqualified, but they have failed”, he said.
Speaking on his political aspiration, the Action Alliance candidate noted, “after due consultations to the people of my constituency, and persuasion from my people, friends and well-wishers, I deemed it fit to contest in order to represent my people at the National Assembly. The interest of my people remains utmost in my priority. Any politics without an intention to serve the people is effort in futility”.
He stated that as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), he attracted a lot of projects to his constituency, thereby contributing to the positive transformation of the areas. “I have been able to use the little opportunity God gave to me through Governor Rochas Okorocha to change the life of my people. My people were almost isolated from the activity of the government before. The Governor, while searching for somebody who would help to touch lives in my area, found me fit, and I have really helped them”.
He mentioned some of his achievements as renovation/rehabilitation of primary and secondary schools, construction of market at Amafor, raising of the standard of Umuagwo Polytechnic, building of a brand-new secondary school called Umuorji Technical School, building of College of Education at Egbema, building of Ministry of Tourism in Oguta, and building of Ministry of Niger Delta at Egbema.
