APC, PDP, APGA, others plan coalition …No political party can win with out coalition

Perhaps, trying to learn from the experiences of the bloody nose which Imo State Governor,Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha suffered in the hands of the coalition forces in both APC Congresses and governorship primary election, the big political parties in the state and their candidates are said to be strategizing on plans to form coalition with other parties ahead of 2019 elections.
Nigeria Newspoint findings revealed that the parties rooting for coalition and alliances are doing so based on their conviction that only such platform can guarantee victory given the large crowd of candidates contesting governorship.
Sources within the major political parties who confided in our correspondent disclosed that some of them have already starting reaching out to the smaller parties’ candidates in a bid to open discussions about forging alliances.
Nigeria Newspoint further learnt that some of those angling for the political romance believe that it remains the only way the election can be won at first balloting in view of the more than fifty governorship candidates, the highest in the political history of the state, whose names would be on the ballot paper on election day.
Therefore to brighter their chances of coasting home to victory, the candidates according to findings are serious working hard to open talks with their contemporaries in other parties.
Although, it could not be immediately ascertained whether such parleys have commenced and the parties and candidates involved, competent sources however revealed that many candidates are already disposed to such idea.
In the light of this therefore analysts are of the opinion that it is a matter of weeks now before Imolites would start hearing and seeing alignments and realignments of governorship candidates to form coalitions with the intention of securing victory next year.
