Imo Governorship: Okorie vows to priorities Technical education, develop Agriculture …Says: I’ll rejig economy …Make State technological hub

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a governorship hopeful in Imo on the platform of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Mr. Linus Okorie says his administration if elected in 2019, will accord priority attention to technical education and agriculture as a sure way to reconfiguring the economy of the state.
Mr. Okorie stated this recently in a chat with newsmen in Owerri. Okorie said he would ensure massive investment in the education sector with emphasis on qualitative education that would focus on technical education. He said the policy would produce the needed manpower in areas like auto-mechanics, oil and gas, Information and Communication Technology, ICT among others.
The YPP governorship aspirant maintained that with the monthly federal allocation to Imo State transparently managed, the state can witness a turnaround in its economy.
Okorie, who assured that state-owned investments such as Avutu poultry would be transparently revived noted that every Imolite with interest in agriculture would be given fund which he said would be provided in collaboration with foreign partners.
He said he is going to find overseas partners for Imolites in sectors such as the media, ICT among others adding that the state-owned Imo State University would get the highest partnership with globally acclaimed varsities on planet earth. He also promised that free education would be sustained and made qualitative.
Continuing, Okorie said the local government areas would form technological hubs, just as Adapalm would also receive a big boost.
He said he would soon unveil his New Imo programme while revealing that he was seriously mobilizing at the grassroots so as to make Imolites join YPP.
