No vacancy: I am still Imo deputy governor -Madumere …As CP withdraws security, exposes his life to danger

Imo State deputy governor, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere has come out to publicly declare that there is no vacancy in the office of the state deputy governor in spite of alleged purported impeachment by the Speaker Acho Ihim led House of Assembly.
Prince Madumere who made this declaration in a release issued by his media aide,Mr Uche Onwuchekwa in Owerri further revealed that an Owerri High Court presided over Justice Benjamin Iheka’s order which restrained the state Chief Judge Justice Paschal Nnadi, Speaker Acho Ihim and his colleagues from going ahead with the impeachment of the deputy governor effectively settled all doubts on who the legal occupant of the office is.
The deputy governor also flayed the government for trying to hoodwink the public into believing that a court order issued on Tuesday,August 1, the day the aborted swearing in was supposed to have been held, stalled the exercise, stressing that contrary to this claim he obtained an order on Monday July 31.
According to Prince Madumere the government through its Chief Press Secretary, Mr Samuel Onwuemeodo lied to the public when it claimed that the order that stopped the swearing in was obtained on Tuesday morning.
On the contrary, the Press release noted that the order made by Justice Iheka of the Owerri High Court was made on Monday July 31.
In the order, the deputy governor further clarified that Justice Iheka had ordered the Chief Judge, the Speaker and members of the Assembly to discontinue with the process of the deputy governor’s impeachment pending the determination of the suit filed by him challenging the process.
Continuing, Prince Madumere expressed shock that Mr Militus Nlemadim, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of the state was in court when the order was made but choose to allegedly connive with the government in trying to deceive Imolites into believing that an order was made on Tuesday, stopping Mr Callistus Ekenze’s inuaguration as a replacement from same Mbaitoli LGA.
As proof of the authenticity of its position, the state number two man challenged the CPS, Mr Onwuemeodo to publish the purported court order granted on the said Tuesday which stopped the swearing in of Mr Ekenze as new deputy governor. He added that the government choose to mislead the people into believing that Mr Ekenze would have been sworn in because Prince Madumere was removed whereas the truth is that the status quo remains going by the Monday court order.
He insisted that he remains the deputy governor in the eye of the law until the matter is disposed of by the court.
Meanwhile a new twist has been added to the ongoing saga between the deputy governor and Gov Okorocha as the Cimmissioner of Police,Mr Dasuki Galadanchi has reportedly withdrawn security details attached to Prince Madumere.
The action of the CP which comes days after a court order stopping the process of the deputy governor’s impeachment is being percieved as another affront on the rule of law by the government which is well aware of the order which direct implication is that Prince Madumere is still in office in the eye of the law.
More worrisome, according to sources is the negative implications of withdrawal of his security details, an action which has exposed the deputy governor to danger.
