Okorocha set to sack commissioners, TC Chairmen

Barring any change of heart Gov Rochas Okorocha may have concluded plans to sack a good number of aides particularly the commissioners and Transition Committee chairmen allegedly on ground of loss of confidence

Nigeria Newspoint was reliably informed by sources close to Imo Government House that the looming purge was not unconnected with the recent trouncing of the governor’s political structure Rescue Mission by the opposition allied force in the ruling APC’s congresses.

Sources informed this newspaper that the governor has publicly hinted his lose of confidence on his commissioners in the aftermath of the defeat accusing them of being liabilities to his government.

It was gathered that the governor believes that his aides contributed little or nothing to his camp during the recent struggle with the Senator Ifeanyi Araraume coalition for the soul of APC in the state thus his decision to offload them from his government.

This newspaper was told that majority of Gov Okorocha’s aides have been living in fear in the aftermath of the congresses following perceived hostility of their principal.

It was gathered that the governor has been so angry with them that he now ignores them and sometimes refuse to grant them audience to see him.

This latest twist in their relationship with their boss it was further learnt has been giving some of them sleepless nights as they fear it was an indication of looming problem.

Meanwhile, the governor’s camp bid to revert ward, local government and state congresses of Imp APC by Governor Rochas Okorocha’s camp in the party has reportedly suffered a setback as the Federal High Court Owerri Tuesday, adjourned the matter to June 22, 2018.

Nigeria Newspoint learnt that the court during Tuesday sitting, adjourned the matter to next month to enable proper service on the defendants in the suit.

This development according to keen observers of the unfolding events in Imo APC, implies that Governor Okorocha and his supporters could have already lost the bid to stop the congresses since in their view, the fact that the defendants were not properly served could mean or amount to failure of the attempt to stop the congresses.
