Zuma energy EIA wrecks havoc in Imo

All the transmission lines of the Zuma Energy Nigeria Limited intended to empower the country’s energy source with 400 mw may hit the rock as the communities wherein the transmission lines will be passing through are in serious disagreement with the company.
According to the President General of Obiakpu Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Sunday Omelu while addressing mediamen recently at Owerri. Zuma Energy is trying to be tactical about their Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on not transmission lines.
Hon. Omelu said Zuma Energy has proved to our community that they are partners in progress, of which most of their activities are not in agreement with our communal development which also needed to be revisited to tidy their program so that they will commence operation.
Obiakpu Autonomous Community President General added that they are not going to accept any act capable of causing havoc in their home as youths have refused the EIA report of Zuma.
Speaking also at the press chat, the President General of Oloshi Autonomous community comprising, Obokofia, lyioji-Oforola which are also major sources of the transmission lines, Comrade David Akubuike lamented on the EIA report carried out by Zuma Energy on their areas.
Comr. Akubuike said Zuma Energy did not inform their people when preparing the beneficiaries list of their transmission lines which would wreck havoc in their localities if implemented.
The Oloshi President General added that they have written to the Ministry of Environment and  also to Zuma Energy for the ratification of their EIA beneficiaries list for peace to be.
