Non-payment of judges salary: I will go naked before Ohakim does – Uzorma …Asks Okorocha to save Pensioners from untimely deaths

The Mayor of Imo Youths and Isu born Professor of Philosophy, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, who is also the National Secretary of Orlu Elders Council, has threatened to embark on a nude crusade to protest the non-payment of salaries to judges and continued indebtedness to Imo pensioners.
In a release titled, “I will go naked before Ohakim does”, which is obviously in solidarity with ex-Governor Ikedi Ohakim, he stated that rather
than wait for Ohakim to make good his threat to go naked, assuming that would force Okorocha to pay the judges, he would take the lead. He said, “consequently, since a critical situation will require critical and drastic measures, informs the threat to go naked first before anyone else in Imo state. This act of protestation is necessary to send a strong message and signal to the youths lead as their undisputed Mayor, that the Imo society as we know it is about to be pushed off the so-called Rochas Okorocha led administration”.

He lamented the maltreatment and injustice meted out to judges, judicial staff and pensioners, stressing
that only regular payment of their monthly salaries and pensions would guarantee harmony in the state.
He wondered why the Governor would renege on his oath of office to improve on the welfare and fulfill all obligations as they affect the judges, civil servants and pensioners.
Prof. Uzorma admonished Governor Okorocha to heed to wise counsels and reduce the hardship he has so far unleashed on these judges in view of how sensitive their role is in a democratic society.
On the side of pensioners, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma said, nothing justifies Okorocha not to consider the
payment of pension arrears a top priority long after the pensioners had successfully obtained a judgment declaring as null, void, unlawful, criminal and of no effect, from a court of competent jurisdiction, Governor Okorocha’s decision to deduct 60% from the monthly pension of retirees.
