Party Congress: Okafor emerges Imo state APGA Chairman …Promises all inclusive leadership …Eberendu returns as party scribe

A former chairman of the Imo state Oil Producing Area Development Commission ISOPADEC, Mr. Henry Okafor has emerged the new state chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.
Mr. Okafor was elected Thursday, May 23, through a voice vote by party delegates drawn from the 27 LGA of the state.
In acceptance speech, the new chairman promised to run an all inclusive regime where those who may have felt aggrieved one issue or the other will feel free to come back to the party. He thanked the care taker committee chairman, Hon. John Iwuala for his role in conducting a free and fair Congresses from the ward up to state level.
He said though, he has emerged chairman, he believes that there was no victor which translates that everyone is a winner during and after the exercise.
Lending his voice, the leader of the party in the state, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume thanked the national leadership of the party for allowing a peaceful atmosphere throughout the exercise saying their conducts have given a new lease of life to the party.
He noted that he is optimistic that the mandate given to APGA during the last election by Imo people will be retrieved by the court.
The APGA governorship candidate during the last election also promised to assist the party in all aspects in order to function efficiently in the state.
Also elected unopposed are Isiuba Ojinaka Deputy Chairman, Alphonsus Eberendu Secretary, Emeka Iroka Vice Chairman Orlu Zone, Osita Opara Vice Chairman Owerri Zone, Tony Asomugha Vice Chairman Okigwe Zone Mrs Ijeoma Obiesi woman leader and others.
