The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State appears to face an impending Tsunami following the resignation of a former deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere from the party.
In his notice of resignation letter addressed to the ward chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Ezinihitte Ward, Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Imo State, Prince Madumere wrote:
“I write to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) effective immediately.
“The decision, though difficult, has become necessary after a deep personal reflection on my political journey with the party. I sincerely feel it is time for me to explore new paths.
“It is my utmost desire and expectation that we all continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years, in our collective desire to build a better Nigeria.”
Prince Madumere’s departure from the party is said to be significant being a founding member of the APC in 2014, while serving as deputy to then Imo governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha.
The former Imo deputy governor who made his mark by contributing effectively to the electoral successes of the APC at both state and national levels during his time in the party, is believed to be set to disclose his next political move soon.
Meanwhile,it has also been gathered that scores of his political allies are already following him by dumping the ruling APC in Imo state.
