Preparations are top gear by the youths of Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state to take to the streets on a peaceful demonstration on Friday, August,1,2025, over the deplorable state of underdevelopment, glaring neglect of the LGA by the past and present Government in Imo state, which has brought about dilapidation of social-basic Infrastructure,such as roads, schools, health care facilities,youth unemployment, insecurity,and sundry socio-economic hardships in the giant-LGA of the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday,July,22,2025, by the Speaker, Youths Assembly of Nigeria,Y.A.N, Mbaitoli LGA chapter,Comr.Uche A.D.Onuoha, the youth leader noted though, that he had made several representations concerning the state of Mbaitoli communities in the past months, using all available means, adding that now, the youths will do it as a people using the advanced method of peaceful demonstration, believing that Government at all levels shall respond accordingly this time.
The statement further informed that,as the youths continue to reach out to necessary stakeholders and security outfits in making sure that the excercise is peaceful, result-oriented and devoid of political hijack,Comr.Onuoha, however urged Mbaitoli youths to repost their flyers with the hashtags’#mbaitoliyouthprotest,#fix mbaitoli,#enoughis enough’ to all social media platforms that will create more awareness and reach out to more audience.
According to the Mbaitoli Y.A.N Speaker,in subsequent time,the time and meeting point for the protest will be disclosed at the official whatsapp group, while adequate logistics are being made for participants, especially those coming from far distance.
