Jehovah’s Witnesses Hold 2023 Convention

 

…Harps on importance of Exercising Patience

“Be patience,trust and wait on Jehovah his time is the best”.

 

This was the central message at the 2023 Convention of Jehovah’s witnesses as the adherents gathered at the Convention Centre,Akabo, Ikeduru LGA,Imo State,for the event which was organized by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s witnesses.

 

It was a memorable experience as speaker after speaker climbed the podium to give lessons generally laced with biblical illustrations and demonstrations centering on the theme of the Assembly;”Exercise Patience”

 

Speaking with our reporter during the event, the chairman of the Convention,Bro.Jonathan Olomu informed that the main purpose of the gathering is to bring Jehovah’s people together to brainstorm, preach the Geospel with the sole purpose of expanding Jehovah’s teachings.

 

Emphasising on the theme of the gathering, Brother Olomu said that there is need for people to always exercise patience and wait upon Jehovah irrespective of any condition they find themselves.

 

He illustrated that Jesus Christ exercised patience even to death, surrendered everything to Jehovah and that Jehovah did not abandoned him.

 

The chairman of the convention also advised Jehovah’s adherents to always imitate Jesus Christ and other Bible characters like Abraham, David, Job, Paul and others who practically demonstrated patience and waited on Jehovah and he never disappointed them.

 

He maintained that the keys to good Christian Life are love, trust and obedience to Jehovah’s principles and therefore, advised that love and trust should exist among Jehovah’s witnesses also extend to people outside the congregation in order to bring them to Jehovah.

 

Over 1,714 adherents attended the event as many more people were being expected as the convention progresses at the Convention Centre, Akabo in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.

Nigeria Newspoint gathered that the Convention would last for twelve days.
