OWERRI NORTH WOMEN BEG IHENACHO NOT TO QUIT POLITICS… Say: Job creators like him needed by Imo, now. … As he distributes palliative

Women of Emekuku Autonomous Community in Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State have passionately appealed to Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho not to quit politics, saying the State needs job creators like him now.

The women, who, bared their mind on Monday, December 28, during the distribution of the second tranche of palliative of over one thousand cartoons of Indomie Noodles by the 2015 Imo governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said the call has become necessary in view of parlous state of things in Imo state, particularly massive joblessness which has officially made Imo,  the headquarters of unemployment in Nigeria, as revealed by the National Bureau of Statistics.

Spokesperson for the women, Mrs Grace Nnaji from Azara Owalla noted that the level of unemployment in the state has reached alarming proportion, hence the urgent need to get renowned job creators and human capital developers like Captain Ihenacho to help rescue the state.

According to her, the ex Minister of Interior and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Oil has over a long period of time demonstrated a passion and commitment for job creation and human empowerment in private and public sectors which singles him out as one of those who can rescue the state from its current precarious situation and transform it into a socio-economically viable entity.

Mrs. Nnaji recalled how within one year in office as a minister he offered over one hundred jobs to youths of the state, just as he has also created thousands of jobs for others in his private company.

She pointed out that with his antecedent they were confident that if given the chance he will replicate same in Imo, adding that it is for that reason they are appealing to him  to, not only rescind his plans of quitting politics but also, to contest for elective office in 2023.

Adding their voices,Chief Chika Nwanna, Azaraegbelu village head and Nze Paulinus Mba representing Umuocham Village lauded the kind gesture of Captain Iheancho and urged him to think seriously about the call of the women.

Earlier, Captain Ihenacho had disclosed that he decided to embark on another round of palliative sharing as a result of increasing hardship caused by economic downturn occasioned by the Covid 19 Pandemic.

He urged the representatives of the ten villages of the community to conscientiously and diligently supervise the sharing of the palliative to ensure that it reaches as many people as possible.

He pointed out that the gesture may be extended to the entire Owerri North Local Government Area and Owerri Zone so that more of the less privileged individuals can be assisted to survive.

Captain Ihenacho called on governments at all levels to prioritize the fight against the pandemic by making more funds available through plugging of wastages, stressing that doing that will make more funds available to combat the pandemic.

The oil magnet enjoined the people to continue to listen and adhere to the advice of experts on the virus, even as he harped on the need to continuously observe all protocols as issued by health authorities.
