Hold leaders accountable, Ogbuagu urges Imo citizens

The member representing Ikeduru State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Amb. Uche Ogbuagu has asked citizens to always hold their leaders accountable if they truly desire an improvement in their living conditions.
Amb. Ogbuagu gave the charge while speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2019 Harvest and Thansgiving Service of St. Marks Military Church Obinze. He said it will only take the grace of God for the country to witness any meaningful progress if the citizens remain docile and allow leaders to run the affairs of the country according to their whims and caprices.
The lawmaker emphasised that God is interested in accountability as recorded in different portions of the bible, and regretted the level of poverty and lack of progress in the country and her institutions which according to him are as a result of lack of accountability by leaders.
He said the responsibility falls on citizens to take the bold and courageous step by asking their leaders questions on how they run their affairs, or remain the same with poverty, infrastructural decay and institutional collapse staring them in the face.
Amb. Ogbuagu commended the chaplain and members of the St. Mark’s Military Church for organising the harvest and thanksgiving service while noting that it is the duty of christians to always show gratitude to God because every good thing comes from Him.
The vibrant lawmaker stated that annual harvest and thanksgiving provide christians the opportunity to show their appreciation to God for the gift of life and His numerous blessings. He admonished them to always be generous in appreciating God as it is the only way they can attract more blessings.
In his remark earlier, the chaplain of the church, Major (Ven) Ji Agbara, lauded the contribution of Amb. Uche Ogbuagu to the development of the society. He said the legislative accomplishments and humantarian disposition of the youthful lawmaker have distinquished him as a reference point for others to emulate, while urging the people of Ikeduru to be grateful to God for having such a selfless and patrotic personality as their representative.
He thanked Amb. Ogbuagu for honoring them with his presence as the Special Guest of Honour, while assuring him that the military community in the state is always ready to work with him.
Amb. Uche Ogbuagu was accompanied to the Harvest and Thanksgiving Service by the DG, Uche Ogbuagu Campaign Directorate, Hon. Chris Egesimba, Chief Jude Opara, Lord Mayor Ikeduru Country Club, Chief Goddy Ibeawuchi, Hon Nnamdi Ezeji, Hon.Chiglo Chijioke and other notable Ikeduru indigenes.
