IMSUTH Orlu: Oluigbo hails Ihedioha on patients discharge at no charge

Hon. Aloysius Oluigbo, Chairman Interim Management Committee, Orlu Local Government, is a happy person.
This follows the action of Governor Emeka Ihedioha over the paretic conditions of patients admitted at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu, who he ordered for their immediate discharge at zero bills.
The staff of the apex Health Institution had embarked on strike leaving the patients at the Mercy of the winds. The cries and prayers of the patients got to the governor who ordered for their immediate discharge without cost or bill.
Reacting to the news of the governor’s fellow-feelings, Hon. Oluigbo said the rare gesture was the best Executive benevolence done to the people in the recent past, adding that the governor has added more garnishing tonic to the love the has for Orlu people.
Oluigbo further expressed his joy that work has started in earnest on Umuowa-Owerre-Ebeiri, and the Teaching hospital roads as promised by the governor, speaking with confidence that the Rebuild Imo Government is action ready to complete all projects in Orlu within stipulated time.
He noted that the patients who benefitted from the governor’s gesture have heaved a sign of relief as many of them had been held back in the hospital after discharge due to nonpayment of hospital bills. He, on behalf of the IMC, Orlu LG.A, Traditional Rulers, Town Unions, Orlu PDF stakeholders, families of the discharged Patients and entire people of Orlu, thanked the Governor for his kind heartedness. He prayed that by the Governor’s pronouncement of discharged, the patients have henceforth received total healing and would not be readmitted in any other hospital, even as he charged the patients to thank their stars that this happened at a time of a man with human milk of kindness as governor.
Some of the discharged patients who spoke to the press on conditions of unanimity said everything sounded like a folk-tale in the dreamland. Some of them, it was gathered had bills of well over N600,000 to settle before the good news came. They thanked the Governor, praying God to guide him in all things.
