Oguta Flood: Prophet urges Ihedioha, ensure NEMA compensates Imo indigenes

Against the backdrop of the recent flood disaster that ravaged some communities in Oguta Local Government Area, a notable indigene of the area, Prophet Skarry Mongo has urged Governor Emeka Ihedioha to ensure that those in-charge of the disbursement of the fund from the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, give the compensation to the affected masses.
Prophet Mongo who spoke to Nigeria Newspoint recently, also revealed that the federal authorities have allegedly released the funds to the affected states for the affected people in Orsu Obodo, Calabari Beach and other communities around should benefit.
Prophet Mongo raised alarm over what he said was the tendency of some highly placed state government officials diverting the said funds or giving more attention to their own people thereby short-changing others affected in nearby communities.
The prophet who urged the state government to expedite action on the process of compensating the victims of the 2019 Oguta flood disaster in which he was reported to have lost property worth over N20 million, equally expressed dissatisfaction at the handling of the disaster. He opined that it would have been better for government to act fast than to come to scene of the disaster in order to pose with the press.
He warned against any attempt by anybody to toy with his compensation as according to him, such a person could incur the wrath of the God of vengeance.
