Nkwo-Ngwa fire: Otti rebuilds market,as Aba residents renew support for APGA

The swift intervention of Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, which is expected to midwife the reconstruction of the fire ravaged ancient Nkwo-Ngwa, situated along Obohia road, Aba, Abia State, has been lauded by the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Eze (Barr) Ishmael Ifeanyichukwu Nnakwue and residents of the area.

Dr Otti, who incidentally is the Abia State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general elections, made this promise while addressing the traders that thronged to receive him during an unscheduled visit to commensurate and offer assistance to the victims following the huge loss incurred as a result of the recent inferno that gutted the famous market.

The former GMD/CEO of Diamond Bank, who lamented the dilapidated condition of the market as occasioned by government negligence and ineptitude, however, directed the member representing Aba South State Constituency, Hon. Abraham Oba, to discuss and agree with the leadership of the market to ensure speedy reconstruction of the market.

While also playing host to Dr. Otti and his entourage, that also visited the traditional ruler of the urban community, to respectfully pay homage and communicate to him his good intention and plans to rebuild the market, the legal practitioner turned monarch glowingly extolled the virtues and character of the APGA Governorship candidate, whom he illustriously described as a blessing to Ndi Abia.

The monarch further applauded Dr. Otti’s magnanimity and quick intervention towards alleviating the sufferings of the affected traders whose shops and wares were gutted by the inferno.

The traditional ruler, however, lamented regrettably the deplorable condition of the Obohia road and its environs and urged Dr. Otti to prioritize the reconstruction of the road when he wins the forthcoming governorship election in Abia.

Some of the residents and traders who spoke to journalists described Dr. Otti as a man religiously kind-hearted with capacity and competence needed to drive the transformation and change the trajectory of Abia. This is as many also promised to vote Dr. Otti and APGA as well as ensure that the votes are not tampered again by the ‘known’ enemies of the state.

The Deputy Governorship candidate, Dr. Eme Uche, also in Dr. Otti’s entourage, in conjunction with the wife of the Governorship candidate, Lolo Otti, generously announce a donation of drugs and disinfectants worth One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000) as their contribution towards curbing the hazardous epidemic hitting mostly the children as a result of poor sanitary and environmental conditions of the area.

Abraham Oba, member representing Aba South State Constituency, who is also seeking reelection, Hon. Destiny Nwagwu, the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Aba Central and Hon.
