APC woos Uwajumogu, Uzodimma, Opia with automatic tickets

As the defection fever bites harder on the ruling APC, the national leadership of the party led by Comrade Adams Oshimhole is allegedly wooing members of the party in the National Assembly with automatic tickets for second term stave off more defections from the party.
Nigeria Newspoint gathered that the chairman of the party Comrade Oshimhole personally made the promise to the lawmakers at a closed door parley  yesterday amid speculations that more lawmakers may be on their way out of the party.
Among those who  would benefit from the APC automatic ticket windfall are lawmakers from the Imo State who are members of the party namely Senators Hope Uzodimma, Benjamin Uwajumogu, Hons Goodluck Opia, Nnanna Igbokwe,  Chike Okafor and Austin Chukwukere
The party sources said is desperate to halt further defections from the party after the defection of more than fifty (50) lawmakers to the opposition PDP last Tuesday.
The party according to sources privy to the arrangement believes offering automatic tickets to its lawmakers would be enough incentive to hold them back from jumping ship.
However, while the gesture which is still a closely guarded secret seems to have gone down well with the beneficiaries who would no longer face the rigours of party primaries, feelers indicate the gesture is already generating ripples within the party.
According to findings some APC governors especially those  having running battles with legislators from their states are said to be uncomfortable with the gesture and  are gearing up to kick against it.
The state chief executives it is believed are also not favourably disposed to arrangement on the ground that it would halt their plots to use national assembly slots to compensate some of their loyalists in 2019
Imo State is said to be one of the states which government is already girding it’s loins in readiness to do battle against the plan given that some of the lawmakers to benefit from the largesse are sworn enemies of the government of Gov Rochas Okorocha.
Government House sources told Nigeria Newspoint correspondent that the governor has started making moves aimed at mustering a formidable opposition to kick against the plan.
However,  the governor still has to wait for sometime before activating his  war plans as the party has not yet openly announced the automatic ticket windfall.
