Pensioner sues Okorocha over land grabbing

A Social crusader and human right activist Mr. Tony Ebubeogu has revealed that Chief Ugo C. Ugo whose land was taken over by Owelle Okorocha’s administration without replacement has gone to Court to get justice.
Speaking to journalist recently, Mr. Tony Ebubeogu opined that Chief Ugo’s decision to seek justice in the Court of law is the right things to do and that his group will give him all necessary support towards that direction. Mr. Ebubeogu went further to posit that his lawyer Barrister Nwanketi is capable of getting the necessary justice for Chief Ugo.
Mr. Ebubeogu recalled that governor Okorocha during his 2017 Freedom Celebration directed Dr. Lawrence Eburuo the then Commissioner for lands to give Chief Ugo another land close to his Plot 151 Area “R’ in New Owerri, but that directive never saw the light of the day. He went further to state that a government that go to the extent of taking a pensioners land without replacement is not a good government in all its ramification. Mr. Ebubeogu prayed the lawyers handling the case, must target the private school being built on Chief Ugo’s land and get it for him to serve as a lesson to this government. He asserted that a similar case happened in River State in the case between Late General Sani Abacha and the present owner of NDDC building in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and that it will not be a surprise if Chief Ugo ends up owning the private school being built on his land.
