Imo Based Artistes celebrate Tom Njemanze

The Imo State based Theatre Artists celebrated a Hollywood Icon Prince Nze last Sunday at Old English Bar/Grills, of 14 Item Street Owerri.
Speaking, the President Mr. Ugo Stephenson (Ndaa Chineke) said they ting Prince Tom Njemanze for his contribution towards the development of Arts and Culture in Imo State and Nigeria saying he has contributed a lot towards the development of Nollywood industry in the State and Nigeria. He stated that the occasion is not the first one but the 9th one because they have been doing it in series to empower, appreciate and encourage Artistes who are based in Imo State. He remarked that the celebration of Prince Tom Njemanze is to tell others that they can succeed from the state.
On government’s support to the Nollywood Industry, Mr. Ugo Stephenson disclosed that they cannot be satisfied but they are asking Igbos to see the Arts as a profession but not as a lousy profession.
“If government empowers and encourages the Artistes, Imo State will be bigger and better than Lagos and other states in Nigeria,” he maintained.
According to the Organizers of the Occasion, it is time out with the Prince of Nollywood. They said it is celebrating Prince Tom Njemanze for his positive contribution towards the sustenance of the Arts, Culture and Entertainment Industry in Nigeria.
Prince Tom Njemanze in his remarks said the Imo State based Artistes chose to give him an award for his immense contribution to Culture and Entertainment (Nollywood industry) adding that the occasion as well was for him to celebrate his 68th Birthday ceremony.
“I feel so elated and thankful to God for His abundant grace to me. I give all glory to Him”, he stressed.
To the young Artistes in the Nollywood industry, he remarked that they should work hard with dedication and give prayers to God to help them always in their endeavours.
Many people graced the occasion including colleagues of his amiable wife, children, relations, friends and well wishers.
