Imo guber: Nwaigbo charges Ugwumba Ambassadors to mobilise for Nwosu

As the 2019 general elections draws closer, the commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs and Donor Agencies in Imo State, Dr. Ernest Nwaigbo has urged youths of of the state to make effort to mobilise the rural people in their respective communities in support of the governorship ambition of the Chief of staff to the governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.

Speaking when the youths under the auspices of Ugwumba Ambassadors, Nkwerre LGA branch, paid him a courtesy visit and installed him as their patron in his office in Owerri, Dr. Nwaigbo described Chief Nwosu as a muster seed that will germinate and flourish and therefore deserves the support of anyone who loves good governance.

According to the commissioner, it would be very easy for Imo to continue to be on a speeder lane of development if Uche Nwosu emerges as governor because he has been in government in the past seven years.

“As someone who has been in government for long, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu can’t be duped by any of these contractors who usually lay ambush for a new governor because he knows the good and bad ones among them.

“Again, he is economically better for Imo as a new governor beause he doesn’t need to be speanding two years learning the landscape because he already knows the places and communities that need attention. So, when he is sworn in work continues immediately with same speed His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has carried on with work here.

“Apart from all these factors, the major thing Imo people should look up for is that they will have a man who is very generous, kind, gentle and above all, great supporter of the youths. So, for His Excellency, who I describe as an oracle, to look endorse him among many others, means that every well meaning Imo person should give him his support. It’s a smooth succession plan like this that made Lagos State what it is today”, Dr Nwaigbo said.

He charged the members of Ugwumba Ambassador to go house-to-house in their respective communities to mobilise rural people to come out and register to enable them vote in their choice in the election, informing that the INEC had since decentralised the registration centres nearer to the people.

He urged them to take the election of Ugwumba Nwosu very serious because it has a lot to do with the lives and future of the people of the state, adding that they should model  their life after their grand patron, Ugwumba as ambassadors.

While thanking them for installing him as their patron, Dr. Nwaigbo promised to continue to support them in their activities to ensure the message of Ugwumba for governor is taken to every nook and cranny of the rural communities in the area.

Earlier, the coordinator of Uwumba Ambassadors in Nkwerre LGA, Ambassador, Chimezie Amadi who spoke on behalf of the group, told the commissioner that the group was established to deepen the consciousness of the citizenry particularly the rural people about the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for governor project, saying to succeed in their avowed mission, they needed well meaning people like Dr. Nwaigbo to be behind them.

He disclosed that part of their programmes included mobilisation and enlightenment campaign on the need for people to register and obtain their permanent voters card because that is the only way they can succeed in massively voting for Uche Nwosu to emerge governor in 2019.

The coordinator stated that in the course of their movement, they found out that the major challenge inhibitting the people from registering to vote is the distance and urged the commissioner to use his office to get INEC to decentralise the registration centres to enable the people participate.
