Cab Painting: Okebaram urges drivers to support govt’s policy

The Imo state chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW, Comrade Izuchukwu Okebaram (Bora) has appealed to his members to embrace the ongoing painting and fleeting program of the state government since it is in their own interest.

The state chairman who spoke weekend in Owerri while addressing drivers in the state stressed that every Imolite should support the project because it would improve security and restore sanity and order to Owerri.

According to him the painting and fleeting are in line with the urban renewal program of the government which he noted has positively impacted the state capital since it was initiated.

Comrade Okebaram who acknowledged the challenges associated with the program assured that such challenges would disappear in no distant time like happened when tricycle (keke) was banned.

He noted that nobody today remembers Keke because the vacuum they created has been effectively addressed by taximo insisting that same thing would soon happen on this same policy

He pointed out that the process when completed would bring sanity, order, beauty as well as improved security to the State.

The state chairman lauded Gov Okorocha for working tirelessly to sanitize transport system in state adding his effort would soon become apparent with the opening of a central park in Owerri.

He was also happy with the commissioner for transport Mr. Lasberry Okafor Anyanwu for being committed to the reform and re-branding of the transport system in the state.
