Unachukwu sues for peace amongst PDP aspirants

The Owerri Zonal chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sir Bon Unachukwu has called for peace and unity of purpose among all the party faithful in the state.

Sir Unachukwu who was speaking against the backdrop of the altercation among some party faithful observed that nothing can be achieved in an atmosphere of bitterness and rancour.

The zonal party Chieftain appealed for total peace and show of love amongst all aspirants, reminding them that they all belonged to one family.

Sir Unachukwu deplored the media war between two governorship aspirants from Owerri Zone adding that the media war emanating from their media support groups should be stopped. He advised that all aggrieved members of the party should use internal party organs to ventilate their feelings and stop destroying themselves on the pages of newspapers and social media.

The PDP Zonal chairman further advised that mud-slinging and blackmail should be eschewed, adding that personal sentiments should not be expressed on party platforms. Sir Unachukwu advised that all campaigns should be issue-based and not maligning one another.

He enjoined media aides to deploy their efforts in projecting their principals rather than applying them on frivolities that neither benefit the aspirants nor the party.

Sir Unachukwu assured all the party faithful and aspirants that the PDP has promised to provide a level play ground for all those who wish to contest any elective positions.

He congratulated all the aspirants who have indicated interest to run for various positions on the platform of PDP and further encouraged those wishing to contest to show interest early enough.

Sir Unachukwu assured PDP faithful that the party would present credible candidates for the 2019 elections and that the primaries would be free, fair and transparent.
