Insecurity: Abducted clergyman regains freedom

One of the clergymen of the African Church, Rivers Province, Venerable Isobo Dokubo who was abducted last week along Kalabari-Emohua Road in company of his fellow clergyman, J.B Lawson, has now regained his freedom and hospitalized.

Nigeria Newspoint gathered that the abducted Dokubo was released two days Thursday ago but the leadership of the church opted to keep it secret.

He has also been admitted in a hospital where he is receiving medical treatment but it was unclear whether his admission is in connection with the injuries he sustained in the hands of his abductors.

Recall that J.B Lawson had earlier released also. It is however not certain if ransom was paid to effect the release of the two clergymen.

The two clergymen, J.B Lawson and Isobo Dukobo were kidnapped Sunday, September 20, on their way to Port Harcourt for their church assignment.

The Archbishop of the church, Most Rev Kala Dukobo had appealed to the abductors of the two ministers to release them unconditionally.

Rev Dokubo also said the church cannot afford to pay the N25 million ransom the kidnappers were demanding, describing the act as wicked and as man’s inhumanity to man.
