Only coalition of opposition will sack Rochas -Ezeh

The contender for the Imo APGA governorship ticket, Mr. Okey Ezeh has suggested what he described as major steps to be taken if Imo people were serious about stopping the re-election bid of Governor Rochas Okorocha. Mr. Okey Ezeh, who made this suggestion in a press release, urged all well- meaning and educated Imo people to do more because according to him, though the Okorocha administration has done more damage to the economy of the state than all other administrations put together, stopping him in the April election is possible, but would not be a tea party. He said this is because, Imo is part of a third world country where many people do not have access to how governments ‘do business and so do not have the wherewithal to hold government accountable, does not see itself as a stakeholder in the Imo project, so sees whatever crumb that falls from the governor’s table as a privilege and not a right. The youthful politician suggested to political parties to seriously consider building a coalition across party line, but warned against adopting a candidate who is worse than Rochas, since according to him, the motivation should not be about stopping Rochas, but about bringing in someone who would lead Imo with the fear of God and tell them the truth at all times and not just what he believes the people want to hear, like Rochas docs.

According to him, “Only the enlightened and properly educated in Imo know that Imo State is paying and will continue to pay a huge price for the anti-people and half hazard policies of the Okorocha government. Only a properly educated person knows that it is not in the interest of Imo that our governor used moncy raised from bonds to build round-abouts and low quality roads, because those projects did not generate income to finance these loans. He said what the average man and woman in the village know is that there is free education but does not consider the quality of the so-called free education, he or she does not care whether there are teachers, whether the few. teachers we still have in schools are still being retained, whether over 6000 vacant positions left by teachers who retired in the last one and half years are being replaced by the government.

Mr. Ezch also decried the sack of local government workers and crippling of the local government in the state, describing it as the height of insensitivity and cluelessness, because, according to him, a sensitive and well-meaning government would have found a way to harness the work force at the local government level for more productivity. He also condemned the importation of over one billion naira (N1b) school uniforms and lockers which he said would have empowered thousands of tailors and carpenters in Imo State.

Mr. Ezch charged Imo people to continue to elect and fire until they get someone who understands that public positions are held in trust for the people.
