Okorocha commends Obinna, Imo people over postponed governorship debate

His Excellency, the Executive governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has commended the people of Imo State, especially members of all political parties and their governorship candidates that could have participated in the botched debate organized by the catholic Archdiocese of Owerri. Owelle further noted that it is a good development for Imo people that are supporters of the political parties met for such a function and there was no record of fracas and nobody was wounded, which means, Imolites have came to appreciate the fact that beyond politics, there is a realization of the existence of brotherhood whether in APC, PDP, APGA or UPP. Furthermore, the state government has debunked claims by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, that APC supporters had beaten up a Reverend Father at the event, stating that APC supporters never confronted anybody not to talk of beating a Reverend Father.

The state governor thanked and commended His Lordship, Archdiocese of Owerri, for organizing such an event to show case the governorship candidates to the people and also to tell them what they have in store for them.

The state government believes that whenever the debate is re-scheduled, whatever caused the postponement would be taken care of.
