Suspect, Martin

Two young men who engaged in bisexual act, otherwise known as homosexual, weekend escaped death by whiskers as villagers of Eziobodo community, near Ihiagwa in Owerri West LGA, Imo State almost burnt them alive for their act which is dubbed a sacrilege in the area. Nigeria Newspoint gathered that both middle aged men were caught pants down in a bush , having the illicit affair by a Palm Wine tapper who surrounded them with a machete and raised an alarm that made scores of villagers to gather.
The gay suspects, whose names were given simply as Martin and Chibuike were, there and then dragged to the village market square where they were both stripped(naked) and paraded round the market that evening in line with the  custom and tradition of Eziobodo community . Further investigation revealed that both men were later tied together, backing each other on a tree in the community’s evil forest with a view to burning them alive, next morning as usual, the next day.A source disclosed that while a Snake bit Martin’s sex mate, Chibuike, that night out of which he died, Martin had escaped and has never been seen anywhere in the sleeping community before this report
When the villagers gathered the next morning to kill both sex mates by burning, they found Chibuike’s lifeless body, while Martin had reportedly escaped. Consequently, the community was said to have reported the matter to the law enforcement agents with Martin’s picture.
Nigeria Newspoint further learnt that the Police and Vigilante in the area have since mounted a serious man-hunt to catch Martin to face the wrought of the community by death or be jailed, completely.
Reacting to the development, a leader in the area, Mr. Jude Mezieobi flayed the ugly incident and charged the youths in Imo communities to try to be meaningfully engaged to run away from such illegal temptation. He noted that idleness is part of the reason youths derail and urged government to do well to provide job for the teaming youths to keep them engaged, even as he opined that “an Idle mind is the Devil’s workshop”.
