Enumerating his projects across the 27 Local Governments in the state, the governor maintained that his rescue mission government has restored the lost glory of Okigwe and promised to complete all on-going projects in record time.

He berated some members of the opposition parties for resorting to campaign of calumny instead of appreciating his development giant strides and attributed the barrage of attacks on his government to his refusal to share public fund to individuals.

Earlier, the Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, His Lordship, Rev. Dr. Solomon Amatu extolled the state government for initiating development projects in Okigwe which he charged the governor to complete to regain public trust and love.

The Bishop emphatically expressed the displeasure of Okigwe people over the sacking of the elected council chairman, Hon. Charles Babatunde Ezekwem (Ikemba Okigwe) who he commended for massively constructing markets, asphalting Owerri Roads, creating employments for women and youths, construction of office buildings and evacuating refuse regularly

Furthermore, he asserted that the sacking of Chief Ezekwem and Chief Sylvester Chukwu, former Permanent Secretary are injustice done to Okigwe people as he enjoined the Governor Okorocha to address the issue promptly as well as asphalt Ope and Arondizuogu roads.

While the governor’s wife, Nncoma Okorocha and others donated towards the building of Immaculate Conception Cathedral building project, the member representing Okigwe Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, IMIA, Hon. Ihim Iheanacho donated a brand new Toyota Rava 4 Jeep to the Bishop amidst thunderous ovation from the congregation.

Meanwhile, as the political profile of Chief Ezekwem keeps rising, members of the People Democratic Party, PDP are said to be wooing him to run for the state assembly seat.
