Imo State APGA Governorship hopeful, Captain Emma Ihenacho last Monday received what political pundits have described as basket ful of blessings and divine approval when some clergymen from the Egbu Anglican Diocese presented his aspiration to God Almighty in prayers.

The clerics who gathered at St. John’s Anglican Church Naze, Owerri North L.G.A for their synod, prayed that God would grant him his heart’s desires. Captain Ihenacho who later addressed the clergymen noted that he chose to speak to them as they represent the church.

Ensure that He told them that he went into politics not to feather his nest but to the people of the state are properly catered for even as he declared that he decide to be in the thick of politics instead of being an arm chair analyst and critic. The mariner noted that having travelled to many parts of the world, he had observed that our rulers are not using our bumper resources in uplifting the standard of living of the ordinary citizen both in the state and the country.

He said he has his big businesses including oil and gas but has decided to come down from the lofty height to revitalize the lives of the downtrodden in the state.

The Emekuku-born politician also used the occasion to debunk the allegation that he is bankrupt or indebted to any body or organization either in Nigeria or outside it.

According to the business mogul, God used him in answering many people’s prayers when he was the Minister of Interior as he helped in providing employment for many youths especially from the state.

The 2015 elections, the ship captain observed would be a different kettle of fish as those who wish to govern the people must meet them face to face and that is what he is doing even as he has plans to transform the state economy from dependent to productive.

The state he asserted, would export products to other states and countries instead of buying from them if he assumed power next year. Productive economy which involves the establishment of industries would ensure the creation of employment opportunities for our teeming youths who engage in various vices as a result of unemployment as an idle man is the devil’s workshop.

He thanked the Bishop of the Diocese for granting him the opportunity to address the clergymen and urged the priests to educate their congregation to vote wisely even when they (the electorate) are bribed by desperate politicians.

Responding to the speech, some of the clergymen urged all the aspirants from Owerri Zone to come together and agree on a particular candidate. They also advised Captain Ihenacho to address issues during his electioneering instead of attacking personalitics as some politicians the state do.

Rev. Promise, Oparanozie called on Owerri Zone to support the aspiration of Captain Ihenacho as the zone could not afford to miss the governorship this time.

He thanked him for embracing many people in his aspiration and reminded him that all the politicians who had succeeded in the past had received prayers from them including the incumbent governor and President Jonathan.

The cleric advised him not to forget the people who supported him as he surely would emerge as the next governor of the state. He called on the party (APGA) to shun all forms of division as that would distract any aspirant running on its platform and possibly scuttle his or her aim. Venerable Kingsley speaking also, promised on behalf of the other priests to speak well of him to their congregation.

Venerable Geoffrey Chima noted that hitherto he had thought that there was no vacancy at the Government House but with the mariner’s personality and his master plan for the development of the state he has seen that there is vacancy and that Captain Ihenacho would occupy the but on personality and programmes. Captain Ihenacho the cleric The politics in the state, he continued, is not this time based on party observed is the only one that can challenge the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and wrest power from him. Captain Ihenacho and his aspiration by the clergymen of the Diocese. The high point of the visit was the blessing and handing over to God of Okorocha
