Ebonyi State indigenes residing in Imo State have held a massive solidarity rally in support of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, commending his administration’s achievements in human capital development, infrastructure, healthcare and security.
The rally attracted Ebonyi indigenes from various local government areas across Imo State in their thousands, including the President of the Izzi Nnodo Progressive Union, Imo State Branch, Comrade Ekpono Ositadinma Ugbala, the Coordinator of the FON Youth Movement, Imo State Chapter, Chief Iziogo Edwin Moses, the FON Women Wing, and other community leaders and stakeholders.
Governor Nwifuru was ably represented at the event by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Engr. Donatus Uche.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Uche congratulated Ebonyians in Imo State for joining others who, according to him, had “seen the truth” and appreciate the achievements of the Nwifuru administration.
He challenged those who criticize the administration on social media to return home and personally assess the development taking place across Ebonyi State and join the majority to support his second tenure bid.
He advised the Facebook politicians.political content creators and non Ebonyians who are hired and paid to criticize Ebonyi State government on social media to stop and retrace their steps as Ebonyi people are happy with their governor who has kept his convanent with Ebonyi People as demonstrated in The Ebonyi People’s Charter of Needs and has endorsed Rt. Hon. Bdlr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and all APC candidates as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections
Chief Uche particularly highlighted the Governor’s investment in education. security and human capital development, citing the construction two Universities one an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) University in the state as the best in Africa and University of Aeronautics and Aviation. He noted that the facility would have been difficult for many families to access privately, recalling that he had personally spent millions of naira to send his son abroad for similar educational opportunities before now .
He further disclosed that the Governor had provided free education for all the 180 pioneer students of the institution for five years from start to graduation both indigenes and non indigenes, describing the initiative as evidence of the administration’s commitment to developing the people.
The Deputy Chief of Staff also described Governor Nwifuru’s political approach as “Godly,” urging Ebonyians to remain supportive of the administration.
In his address, the rally coordinator, Chief Iziogo Edwin Moses, commended Governor Nwifuru for what he described as significant progress in the fight against insecurity. He also highlighted the Governor’s free education initiatives, including the sponsorship of hundreds of students abroad, improvements in the health sector and ongoing infrastructure projects, including flyover construction.
Chief Moses equally praised the Deputy Chief Whip of the 10th Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, for his contributions to the development of his senatorial zone.
The event also witnessed strong political support from APC stakeholders, including Senator Engr. Ken Eze, representing Ebonyi Central; Senator Okorie Ani, representing Ebonyi South; and members of the House of Representatives, including Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze and Chief Emmanuel Uguru, alongside other party leaders and members.
The FON Women Wing, Imo State Chapter, added colour to the occasion with traditional songs, praise and cultural dancing as they welcomed the Governor’s representative.
The gathering ended with renewed calls for continuity, with supporters and political stakeholders advocating the APC’s proposed “4+4” continuity agenda for Governor Nwifuru and emphasizing the need to sustain what they described as the gains of his administration.
