Imo Commissioner Says Govt  Attaches  Great  Importance  To Youth, Women Empowerment

Imo State Entrepreneurship, Skills Acquisition and Social Responsibilities  Commissioner Prof Chinonye Love Moses says Imo State government under Senator Hope Uzodinma attaches great importance to Youth and Women Empowerment through Skills Acquisition.

Prof Chinonye Love Moses who was speaking when the National Deputy President of the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industries Elder Emenike Onu and some Members of the Imo State Executive of NASSI paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Owerri.

Prof Mrs Love Moses said that because of the Governor’s love to develop Imo Youths and Women,  a Seminar tagged Training The Trainers Workshop will hold in Owerri soon. She said that the Trainers will later be sent to the 27 Local Government Areas of the State to train those in the rural areas. She said that over 5000 Imo Youths and Women would be involved and trained in various Skills inin the Skills Acquisition training and Empowerment.

The  Entrepreneurship, Skills Acquisition and Social Responsibilities Commissioner said that the Ministry would like to Partner with the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industries -NASSI in some of their Programmes.

The Commissioner said that She has been involved in NASSI activities even while She was doing her Ph.d programme adding that she loves NASSI’s programme on Women Empowerment

In his address, the National Deputy President of NASSI, Elder Emenike Onu said that the Federal Government attaches great importance to NASSI because of its involvement in harnessing grassroots Small Scale Industries and Entrepreneurship.

Elder Onu enumerated so many programmes and activities which NASSI embarks on to encourage Nigerians to embark on Small Scale Industries which is the bedrock of China and other advanced nations industrial development.

He proposed starting from the primary schools to teach and train Nigerian children on Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship.

The National Deputy President of NASSI told the Commissioner that NASSI is the booster organ for Small Scale Industries in the country and it is recognised worldwide.
