Christmas is still some weeks away, but the Nkwa Chi Kwere Community Development Foundation, has already started putting people of Obiangwu/Ezemba Ward 10 Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo state in the mood for the celebration, courtesy of the empowerment program it just carried out in the ward.
The exercise, geared towards helping the benefiting members of the ward expand their businesses, and start new ones, was the latest in the foundation’s ambitious continous empowerment initiative, meant for all the communities and wards in the nine Local Government Areas in Owerri Zone.
The visibly elated beneficiaries, selected from all the villages in the ward, from across party lines, smiled home with various economic enhancement and livelihood improvement tools, such as motorcycles, complete barbing / hair dressing kits,sewing machines, POS Machines with start up capital, financial support, and agricultural inputs like fertilizers and feeds.
Presenting the empowerment tools, Hon Chukwuma Anuforo, Director General of the foundation, said the exercise marked another batch of empowerment program the Foundation has carried out in the ward. He stressed that the Chief Converner of the Foundation , Chief Dr Chijioke Kaduru, who is the architect of life changing initiative, approved the empowerment exercise, as a way of appreciating people of the ward their continous support, charging them to continue to sustain that gesture, as well as continuing to pray for him.
He appealed to them to ensure that they put the materials given to them to good use, as expected by the foundation, stressing that if they do that it will not help grow their businesses, but also help them break free from poverty and hunger.
Some of the beneficiaries, Hon Josephine Obilor, Constance Opara, Andrew Nkwocha, and Chizoma Ogu, beaming with smiles, described the gesture as rare in the history of the ward,and Ngor Okpala LGA, while expressing profound gratitude to Dr . Kaduru, for his continuous demonstration of benevolence and love for people of the ward, Ngor Okpala LGA, and Owerri Zone.
They reaffirmed their absolute and unalloyed loyalty, and support to him, and pledged to give him maximum support if his highly speculated ambition to represent Owerri zone in the Senate in 2027,is activated by him.
According to them, in the spirit of equity Ngor Okpala has the right now to represent Owerri Zone in the Senate, since all other blocs in the zone,namely Mbaike, Owerri and Mbaise have taken their own turns. Consequently,they made a passionate appeal to the people of the zone, to give support to Ngor Okpala to go to Senate in 2027,since it does not only have qualified and capable individuals, but also those like Dr Kaduru, who have proven through private philantrophy,that they can completely rewrite the story of the zone’s senatorial representation.
