Imo Government Must Fix Rural Roads Now As Dry Season Sets In.

Roads, quality good roads, are crucial for the development of the rural communities.

Imo rural roads are no doubt, in bad shape. The state government has reportedly pointed at the rains as reasons due attention has not been given to them.

But we also point out that there have been delays in fixing the rural roads overtime.

To some of the people in the corridors of power, the fact that Imo is located in the rainforest, like any other state in the Southeast or Eastern part of Nigeria, is enough reason for rural roads to remain virtually impassable.

Even government aides have also been reportedly giving assurances that work will begin on the rural roads as soon as the rains subside.

Although elsewhere in the world, this type of reason may not exist at all. Even if it exists, it can only be taken with a pinch of salt.

Nigeria Newspoint urges the Imo State government to leverage the window of the dry season that is gradually setting in, to begin work on Imo rural roads.

If the state government can begin work early on the rural roads now that the rains are gradually going away,, it would have covered enough grounds by next year ,2026 when the rainy season is expected to return.

Like is usually said,a stitch in time saves nine.
