Events On Marble:26th Graduation Ceremony of Nursery 3& Primary 5/6 pupils of the Eternal Word Christian Schools Int’l Ltd, Umudibia, Nekede, Owerri

It was a memorable and historic events at the above school as parents, guardians, members of staff and management of the above school gathered to watch their young ones graduating from the Nursery and primary sections  thrill them with various activities lined up for the event  of the day. Speaking to Nigeria Newspoint in a chat,the President/Proprietor of the institution Dr Vincent Nwamkpa disclosed that he and his wife Chinyere Edith Nwamkpa began this noble venture by establishing the Eternal Word Communication Ministries in1994 as a non-profit organization with the aim of starting schools as well as printing and translating the Bible in various Nigerian languages in addition to starting many other organizations and church. The school took off on October 10,1999 with six students and ended with 44 students in the first year while the second year ended with 88 students and has continued to grow in leaps and bounds with the present population of 835 students. Their aim being to reach out to students and adults academically in the light of the word of God. Currently, there are 95 staff on the pay roll of the school and church. The church was set up on Aug 31,2023 and at such they have been able to achieve the purpose of their Ministries in establishing the schools and church, while the rest are yet to accomplished. Their challenges:Finance to complete a building project to take care of a cafeteria, class rooms and girls dormitory.He also noted that they need busses to convey pupils to and from schools as the ones they have are now dilapidated because of bad roads. They also expressed their faith in God to help them through individuals and corporate organizations. On the school’s peformance:It has performed credit ably in spelling competition having represented Imo State at the federal level.The children are trail blazers in mathematics and computer science. On what they would like to be remembered for by posterity:He said for their efforts in reaching out to the children and adults through academics and the word of God. Speaking also, the Supervsor/Administrator of the school Brother Eugene Iwundu enumerated his roles which are to ensure the administration, organization, planning and execution of various projects as well as supervision of events in addition to enforcing discipline and work ethics. He pointed out that they have assets and liabilities such as computer and science labs which could be rated as one of the best in the state while liabilities are lack of funds to take care of ongoing projects vehicular maintenance, among others. The guest speaker Mr Uche Chukwuma Nwadike in an exhortation advised parents and guardians to to train their children and wards in the fear of God with love and discipline watching out over what they do, where they go and who are their friends. The head Teacher F O Peter disclosed that the batch of 2025 graduands comprised 63 Nursery 3 and 53 Primary 5/6 pupils and noted that they have achieved lasting bonds, created unforgettable memories and laid the foundation of a brighter future. Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of addresses by representatives of the graduating class among whom was Master Ejike Osinachi of Nursery 3,cutting of graduation cake, presentation of award certificates to outstanding pupils and teachers who had distinguished themselves in character and in academics, drama, cultural dance, etc.
