Uzodinma ,Building  Quality, Though  Not Many Roads In Imo – OJukwu .

The Publisher and Editor in Chief, Nigeria Newspoint newspaper, Comrade Lambert  Ojukwu has  said that the Imo State Governor ,Sen.Hope Uzodinma has done fairly well  in the area of road construction in the state though he added is not building  many roads but that the few  he has built are of quality structures.

Ojukwu also maintained that the Governor is trying in other areas but worried that his administration is very much  under reported and lacking in media relationship.He chided that ihe governor has a lot more to do at the Local Government levels.

The  Editor in chief made the assertion “On Reputation Watch”a life radio programme at the  Zanders F.M Owerri yesterday  in conjunction with the State chapter of Nigeria Institute of Public Relation, NIPR.

Addressing some questions bothering  on relationship between the Print Media and NIPR as regards to the public good maintained that there exist a symbiotic relationship between the two professions with each having its peculiar  roles to play.

He informed that NIPR deals with image laundering to Government and corporate organizations in a positive light while the print media relates  their activities to the public by creating awareness.

Citing the present administration of Uzodinma, the Nigeria  Newspoint Chief Editor frowned at the attitude of  those in charge of image making of the Government blaming them for not doing much in propagating its administrative policies despite the fact that there are much to talk about.

He asserted that the present administration is  not at home with the print media as regards to publicity hence the need to actively engage with the print media.

The Publisher added that the NIPR relies on the print media to make known to the public the activities of the establishments or corporation it is managing.

Ojukwu however pointed out that in the process of relating with the print media the NIPR should strive to  deal with factuality and not propaganda inorder not to mislead or misinformed the media.

He advised that Government and corporate organizations should be open to the media and try more often to  engage professionals who can always give them professional advice when it comes to image management to avoid public ridicule.

On the issue of sensationalism, Ojukwu said that a Journalist who knows his job must avoid sensational reportage by cross checking facts before going to the print.

He said that a good Journalist must make objectivism his watch word through balancing of his report.

Making his inputs, the State Chairman of NIPR, Evabeez Nwosu said that the institution is rebuilding its self to live up to the present realities of dealing with image making.

He proposed the  establishment of  the Ministry of Public Relations inorder to regulate its activities and fish out quacks.

Nwosu informed that NIPR does not run on propaganda and is always ready to  accept mistakes.
