“Not IPOB, But Opposition responsible for killings in Orlu”
Imo state governor,Sen Hope Uzodinma’s evidence through a Video clip presented to the Abuja court trying Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the terrorism case has been described as one of the pivotal moments at last Friday’s court proceedings .
The hope rising for the IPOB Leader’s freedom came when the defense team played a video clip showing Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, clearly stating that the killings in Orlu LGA in the state were not carried out by IPOB but by members of the opposition party.
The evidence sharply contradicted the earlier testimony by the DSS witness, who had claimed that IPOB was responsible.
When questioned, the witness acknowledged recognizing the governor but attempted to downplay the clip, stating that the governor “ didn’t mention names.”
It is the stance of the defense that this evidence directly contradicts the allegations against Kanu and IPOB, and supports the position that many of the accusations are politically motivated and lacked factual basis.
Another clip featured a public figure asserting that the killings in the South East were not caused by IPOB but driven by political interests; a claim the witness could not challenge.
Observers believe this series of revelations in court may significantly influence public perception of the trial and raise new doubts about the prosecution’s claims.
