The Imo State House of Assembly has urged Governor Hope Uzodinma to fix the road connecting Atta, Inyishi Amaimo Ugirike bridge to ease the sufferings of the rural dwellers making use of the road for farming and commercial purposes.
The House made the resolution following the adoption of the motion moved by the member representing Ikeduru State Constituency, Hon.Jonhleoba Iheoha who narrated that the condition of the road is posing great danger to his Constituents who apply it on daily basis.
He informed that the road also serves as major route connecting Ikeduru and Ahiazu Mbaise LGAs.
Iheoha asserted that reconstruction of the road is crucial for improving socio-economic well being of the area by boosting trade and commercial activities.
The Lawmaker went on to commend Uzodinma on the establishment of a Specialist Hospital in Ikeduru and his efforts in reconstructing and rehabilitating some major roads in the state as he appealed to him to reflect the same in his Constituency.
The Lawmaker enjoined his colleagues to support him by ensuring that the motion sees the light of the day.
The House after much deliberation on the motion, resolved to urge the Governor to direct the Commissioner in charge of Ministry of Works to conduct thorough assessment of the road and ensure that it is rehabilitated before the rainy season fully sets in.
