Imo Charter Of Equity: Journalists Flay Media ReportAgainst Ohakim, Insist, He’s Best For 2027 Governorship“No Govt has done better after him in Imo”…His policies created wealth, grew economy

A cross-section of Imo journalists and Media Practitioners have berated a recent media report targeted at disparaging the good name and image of a former Governor,Chief Ikedi Ohakim.
This is even as the journalists insisted that Ohakim’s administration was superb both in terms of vision, policies, performance, infrastructural projects and welfare of Imolites.
Some of the journalists recalled how the former Imo helmsman created uncommon prosperity during his tenure, adding that Imolites were yet to witness a repeat of such a situation since Ohakim left in 2011.
They also disclosed that journalists and media workers including newspaper publishers prospered as well as reached their peak under Chief Ohakim as Imo governor.
In their view, it was clearly Ohakim’s liberality, magnanimity and love for the media that catapulted Imo State to the status of Nigeria’s 3rd media hub between 2007 and 2011.
The journalists therefore described the said publication in one of the state based tabloid as mere trash that deserves no attention at all.
According to them, Chief Ohakim performed creditably, and as such, unequivocally deserves a return to Douglas House Owerri to complete his term should he show interested in 2027.
It will be recalled that an Imo based newspaper recently published a story purporting to discredit the four years administration of Chief Ohakim as Imo governor; the same ill-fated publication was credited to purported ‘Okigwe people.’
