The British Council and Swintec Computer Institute have rolled out free six weeks training on International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Imo State.
Speaking during a one day IELTS Fair held at Rockview Hotel on Thursday, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Pastor Felix Nnawobu noted that the six weeks free training are for those who have registered for the IELTS, which deals on English proficiency test. He said that whoever that is interested should go to Swintec Computer Institute for the registration, adding that Swintec is the only accredited institute in Imo State working with British Council for the IELTS training.
He pointed out that IELTS is the international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers, stressing that IELTS system is highly regarded and widely recognized as the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. He said IELTS through British Council has come to the doorstep of Imo people.
In his remarks, the Business Development Manager of British Council, Felix Maduka noted that whether one is looking to study abroad, develope ones career or settle abroad in an English speaking country, IELTS paves way for one to travel, while calling on citizens of Imo State and environs to take advantage of the training for those that wish to pass the English proficiency test which everyone must sit for before one travels because Nigeria is not regarded as English speaking country.
