Army Vs IPOB: Imolites Flay Udenwa, Okorocha, Other Leaders For Keeping Mum As Orlu Burns …FG allegedly deploys 400 soldiers …Eze Okeke: We’ve not seen them

Prominent leaders of Orlu Zone have come under barrage of attacks from indigenes of the area ein particular and Imo in general over their graveyard silence amid the killings and destruction going on in the zone.

Many Orlu indigenes who spoke to Nigeria Newspoint on the issue expressed shock and disappointment that almost all prominent political leaders from the area particularly ex-Governors Achike Udenwa and Rochas Okorocha and other elected representatives of the zone are keeping mum in the face of the sudden disaster that has hit their area.

According to them apart from a faction of Orluzurumee Assembly led by Prof,Protus Uzorma, no other group or personality from the zone has bated an eyelid over the alleged mowing down of innocent civilians by the military deployed to  quell the operations of Eastern Security Network, ESN, recently set up by IPOB.

Even more disturbing according to them is that the governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma has not been giving adequate attention to what is happening to his people at this trying time of their lives, even as they noted that the whole actions and inactions of the leaders are making the people feel terribly abandoned to their fate.

The palpably worried indigenes who craved anonymity further opined that the crisis is serving as an eye opener to them that their political leaders in the Zone yparticularly ,Senator Okorocha who is the incumbent senator for the zone, four House of Representatives Members and twelve Assembly Members, are only concerned about their personal political ambitions, than the security and well being of those they hold their mandates.

” It is really shocking. These people only want us for our votes and nothing more. Can you imagine that since this crisis started our Senator has not uttered a word. Same with other elected representatives. But, you saw how Yoruba leaders came out to defend their people in Ondo and Oyo states on the issue of Fulani Herdsmen.” One of them lamented disconsolately.

According to them the people of the area have resigned to their fate and are now looking up to God to intervene on their behalf and save them from attacks by security agents.

But even as the people are bemoaning their fate, news filtered ,yesterday that the Federal Government has sent another contingent of troops said to be in the region of four hundred.

However, when contacted on the issue Eze Emmanuel Okeke, Chairman Imo Community Policing Committee said, “we have not sighted any new security deployment in the area”.

Eze Okeke who is the traditional ruler of Amaifeke Autonomous Community in Orlu LGA, added that as at the time he spoke to Nigeria Newspoint there was no new military personnel deployed.

He added that if such happened those deployed may either be on their way or, still preparing to come.
