Imo Assembly staff celebrate suspension of Clerk
…Laud Speaker over action
…Say: Rochas used Duru, Ekenze to destroy Civil Service

Imo House of Assembly workers thrown into the ecstasy since the suspension of Barr Chris Duru as the clerk and the emergence of Barr Mrs. Chinelo Ndukwe Emeghara as the acting clerk of Imo House of Assembly.
Their joy and happiness is so over whelming that to some, it resulted into continuous open praise and worship songs to Almighty God while others expressed their happiness with bottles of soft drinks.
One of the overwhelmed staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity described the suspension of Barr Chris Duru as the clerk of the House as a divine liberation of Assembly workers who have been on captivity and badly oppressed by his style of leadership which he copied from the achiavellian immoral philosophy and 48 laws of power.
Speaking further, she described the development as a situation where the cats are being let out of the cage to receive their freedom. She gave the glory to God while thanking the new leadership of the House under the speaker Rt. Hon. Chief Chinedu Offor for rising up to the occasion to restore back the sanctity and reputation of the legislative organ of government especially his decisive action of bringing back to Imo House of Assembly some staff maliciously transferred out on political grounds by Barr. Duru.
Another worried but now a happy staff who spoke in anonymity also confirmed that for a very long time now, workers of the Assembly have reportedly witnessed overt siege and intimidation under the administration of Barr. Duru who claimed to be untouchable, unquestionable under the past Rochas Government. The intimidation was so much that even the then Speaker, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim was helpless to help the members of the staff because of Almighty Duru and his big boss Owelle.
Speaking further, he revealed that the issue of the Deputy Clerk, Mr. Anthony Elebiri is a non issue because he officially retired on March 1, 2019 but Barr. Chris
Duru in order to deter the growth of legislative staff went and irregularly extended his stay as a civil servant at the eleventh hour of the out gone Government. The worried staff cautioned outsiders who are ignorant of the Assembly matters to stop building ant hills from a tea cup rather they should be happy that their fellow brothers and sisters who are Assembly workers have been liberated and redeemed from their oppressor; and urged them to join the Assembly workers in thanking God Almighty for what he has done for them by removing Chris Duru and bringing in Barr. Chinelo Emeghara who is the most senior staff in the House of Assembly presently after the suspended Clerk. According to the staff and it is worthy to note that she has been on grade level 17 since 2012. The choice of Barr, Chinelo Emeghara has put smiles in the faces of the Assembly workers.
Some other workers attributed the development as law of Kama in action because he is leaving in the way and manner he came in, in the year 2011 as the clerk of the House of Assembly at the expense and detriment of the then clerk, Mr. Obinna Ufomadu who did not even stay up to one year in office. They advised him to be grateful to God having served as a clerk for eight years and desist from sponsoring negative publications against innocent persons, groups and the new House leadership.
In a related note, some civil servants in the state service have expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for ushering in a new administration led by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha into office, saying his coming has saved the state service from alleged total extinction which, the past administration almost pushed it into.
Continuing, the workers stated that former Gov Rochas Okorocha maliciously used the suspended Imo Assembly, Barr Duty and ex head of service Mr Callistus Ekenze to destroy the state civil service.
According to them, the governor allegedly used the duo to wantonly break laid down rules, regulations, processes and procedures of the service, intimidate, harass, molest and inflict punishment on perceived real and imaginary opposition workers.
They said the two became the untouchables of Gov Okorocha because they provided him the technical support he used in emasculating and subjecting the once thriving civil and public service to eight years of redundancy and joblessness, all in a bid to enthrone unilateral “familiocracy” in the state.
Looking excited and happy over the turn of events, the workers who pleaded anonymity said workers of the state are mightily relieved that the two rampaging agents of the ex governor have been shown the way out of the service even as they prayed never to experience their like in the system again.
