Nekede Cult War: Monarch sues for peace, calls for establishment of Anti-Cult Squard

The Traditional ruler of Umuoma community Nekede in the Owerri West LGA of the state, HRH Eze Morrison Eke, has called on the state government, as well as relevant security agencies in the state to come to the rescue of his community from the hands of dreaded rival cult groups.

Unconfirmed reports have it that about 13 persons, many who are students have been mauled down following clashes allegedly involving the Aiye confraternity and their Vikings counterparts in the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.

In an interview with newsmen on the incident, the traditional ruler, expressed sadness that precious lives of students and indigenes are lost on a daily basis, while people of his community are living in fear.

He advocated the establishment of anti-cult Squard in the Nekede Police division as well as the communities that play host to the two Federal higher institutions in the state.

According to him, this will help curb the menace which had done a deadly blow to the dreams and aspirations of the students.

The Monarch however expressed confidence in the ability of the security agencies in the state to restore peace in the institution, while urging parents to always monitor the activities of their children, especially those in the institutions of higher learning in other to forestall future occurrence of such unfortunate incident.
