2019 Elections: Supreme Council Of N/Delta Youths adopts Ukaegbu, others

Extremely worried by the declining economic welfare of the Imo citizenry, occasioned by attendant maladministrative tendencies by government in Imo state since 2011,a Frontline socio-cultural youth organisation in Imo state, the Supreme Council Of Niger Delta Youths, S.C.N.D.Y.,has resolved to throw its weight in support of the Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate, chief Joseph Ukaegbu(Ikenga),among other candidates of the vying for various elective offices ahead of the 2019 general elections.
A statement made available to newsmen in Sunday, signed by the president of the group, Gen.Thaedus Nwachukwu, and Secretary, Kingdom Ozuzu, noted that, the resolution became imperative in view of the fact that, the Supreme Council Of Niger Delta Youths have discovered desired instruments of vision and freedom in the Imo State Labour Party’s governorship candidate,including those contesting the state’s House of Assembly,federal House of Representatives and Senate under the platform of the Labour Party ahead of the awaited general elections.
The statement further hinted that, the group maintains implicit confidence in chief Ukaegbu, even as it asserted that the LP guber candidate is capable of wiping away the tears of the Imo populace, especially, the workers, if elected into office as governor of Imo state, come, 2019.
The group, however, appealed to the people of Imo state(eligible voters) to vote massively for the LP, in order to realise the welfarist-ideology as contained in the party’s manifesto,prominent amongwhich is to revitalise agriculture, infrastructure, and ethical re-orientation in the state.
