Nwulu remains UPP guber candidate-Nwosu

Hon. Nkem Nwosu, the Eze Oha 1 of Ohaji/Egbema have described a recent newspaper publication on the Nigeria Newspoint Newpaper as a handiwork of some political marchants whose stock in trade is to malign people without justifications.
The publication in contest was made on Wednesday January 9, 2019 edition of the newspaper and appeared on page 9 with the caption “Imo UPP exco rejects Tony Nwulu.
Speaking to journalist in Owerri, Tuesday January 15, 2019, Prince Nwosu said he was never privy to any discussion leading to the publication and as such, should not be a party to the alleged publication.
He explained that during the last Christmas festival, one Mr. Ebenezer Ogbonna, from Obinze in Owerri West LGA, who is based in the United Kingdom, invited him over to his house, possibly to explain to him why he failed to pick up the nomination form of the United Progressive Party UPP guber as he promised. The invitation, he noted was at the instance of another Board of Trustee member of the party Chief Emma Ozuzu.
“Upon getting to Mr. Ogbonna’s house, I met some people since it was Xmas period, I didn’t query what their mission were and we all exchange pleasantries. There was no meeting, no communiqué and discussion or whatsoever” he said.
He queried why some people will derive pleasure in dragging his hard earned reputation in the mud more so, setting him up against Hon Tony Nwulu whom he described as the best choice UPP has made.
The traditional leader added that those behind the publication wants to instigate an enmity between him and their candidate saying their plot has failed since UPP as a party has resolved not to be distracted at this time of election.
Prince Nwosu who is a BoT member of UPP is using the medium to call on the sponsors of the negative publication to urgently retract it within one week of the publication since it was made in bad faith.
