Reps: Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala unite for Emereonye

Indigenes of Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala Federal constituency from all walks of life and across politically party lines last Tuesday, converged at the Town School play ground, Enyiogugu, Aboh Mbaise local government area to demonstrate their love, solidarity and endorsement for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the 2019 house of representatives election, Chief Okechukwu Christopher Emereonye as he formally, flagged off his electioning campaign.
The day’s historic event kicked off with heroic boundary reception conducted by Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala APGA party executives, chieftains and members for Okechukwu Emereonye at La Perch Hotel/Radio Nigeria entry point to Aboh Mbaise. The APGA candidate’s arrival was announced by several canon shots. The colourful boundary reception was followed by a visit to the traditional ruler of Umuezie Nguru autonomous community, His Royal Highness, Eze Charles Ndubuisi Iroegbu, a stopover at the popular Afor Ajala market square in Ahiato Nguru, the commissioning of Okechukwu Emereonye campaign office located close to the Afor Enyiogugu market along the Owerri/Umuahia road and, a road walk by the candidate, APGA leaders and supporters to the Town School venue of the event where they were applauded and received by a mammoth crowd of people of Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala.
Introducing the APGA house of reps hopeful to the jubilant and highly excited constituents, the Director-General of Okechukwu Emereonye campaign organization, Barr. (Mrs) Sylvia Iwejuo posited that APGA as a political party, in line with its sacred task of ensuring the survival and overall development of highly marginalized Igbo land and other less-privileged areas in Nigeria, carefully chose a man with a heart for the masses Chief Okechukwu Christopher Emereonye as its candidate for Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala.
According to Sylvia Iwejuo, Okechukwu Emereonye is a man fully bent on rendering selfless service to his people through quality representation in the house of reps. Mrs. Iwejuo explained that a good name which is far better than wealth could only be sustained through selfless service to the people.
Speaking at the occasion, the immediate past chairperson of Aboh Mbaise local government and founder, Mbaise Women Success Mandate, Mrs. Chioma Enwereji applauded APGA’s choice of Okechukwu Emereonye as its house of reps candidate.
Chioma Enwereji expressed optimism that women of Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala would breathe a sigh of relief with Chief Emereonye as their representative in the green chamber of the National assembly.
Contributing, a female political stalwart and leader of Ngor Okpala women, Lolo Adimnachi Onwukwe expressed satisfaction over the emergence of Chief Okechukwu Christopher Emereonye as APGA candidate. According to Lolo Onwukwe, Hon. Emereonye who she described as quite apt for the job of law making would recover the lost glory of the area.
Presenting APGA flag to Okechukwu Emereonye as the patty’s standard bearer, the party’s Imo State Chairman, Barr. Peter Ezeobi described him as a highly trusted, service-oriented and visionary man who would wipe away the tears of his people.
“APGA as a political party chose Okechukwu Emereonye as it’s house of reps candidate because, he is a man that could attract great respect to the party by making his people happy through effective representation”, Barr. Ezeobi stated.
The APGA state chairman charged indigenes of the area to ensure they obtained their voter’s cards to enable them cast their votes for all APGA candidates in the 2019 general elections.
Receiving the APGA flag, the house of reps candidate, Chief Emereonye assured people of the 23 political wards in the area of quality and adequate representation at the National Assembly.
“I want to commend alt those that till date, represented our people in the house of reps. I want to thank them for their efforts but, one thing I am assuring our people is that I am going to the house of reps to do better than my predecessors. I am going to make positive difference that would put smiles on the faces of our people,” Okechukwu Emereonye stated.
Okechukwu Emereonye who hails from Umuaghara Obibi Ahiato Nguru lamented over what he described as the pitiable and sorrowful condition of pensioners and senior citizens in the area and entire state.
Promising to ensure better days by way of life-reviving programmes for pensioners in Aboh Mbaise and Ngor-Okpala, the APGA candidate spoke of plans to initiate and sustain bilateral trade and economic relationship between the people of his constituency and the United Kingdom under an arrangement referred to as twinning economic venture. This according to him, would fast track economic activities in the area.
The state publicity secretary of APGA, Chief John Iwuala, the chairmen of Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala chapters of APGA namely, Emma Nnaji and Nze Damian Nwankwo as well as APGA chairman in the United Kingdom, Chief Eric Nzekwe were among dignitaries in attendance.
