PDP Primaries: Samdaddy rejects Ihedioha’s victory, heads to appeal

In what appeared to be a sudden turn of events, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has openly declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary election held between October 1 to 2 2018 at Kanu Nwankwo sports complex Owerri was marred with irregularities and as such, he will not accept the outcome of the election result.
Briefing journalists in his campaign office in Owerri Tuesday, Sen. SamDaddy as he fondly called said after his Divine Mandate campaign team concluded their tours of the 27 LGAS in the state, it becomes obvious that his aspiration was generally accepted and wondered why the will of the people should be denied during the primaries.
The Senator representing Imo East at the red chambers however described the outcome of the election as “no winner, no loser” adding that his team rejected the results which saw Hon. Emeka Ihedioha clinching the party ticket having studied all variable indices associated with the election. Senator SamDaddy polled a total of 1282 votes to trail behind the winner, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha who scored 1723 votes.
He noted that they have sent an appeal to the National body of the party with a believe that they will look into their demands for the greater interest of party.
According to him, “how can an adhoc list be brought to us just 3 hours to the primary election?” He disparaged the electoral committee which conducted the election saying they did a bad job in the state.
