Sagay faults Imo Ward, LGA congresses …Calls for repeat

As political intrigues continue to unfold following the trending Imo All Progressive Congress APC congress held recently across the federation, some notable Nigerians have continued to air their views on the issue. While some upheld the Imo APC congress as successful, some with different opinion thinks otherwise.
Joining his voice in condemning the exercise is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, prof. Itse Sagay, who describe the congress as an exercise that failed to realize its outcome following the crisis that accompanied it.
Prof. Sagay who is the Chairman Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, PACAC and who spoke in Lagos in an interview with journalists in clear term called for the outright cancellation of the Imo APC congresses saying it was characterized by fraud.
Recall that crisis started when it was alleged that some sensitive materials meant for the ward congress in Imo were high jacked, thus; disrupting the exercise.
“The election has to be repeated, they should cancel it and repeat it. What is done is not reliable in view of what has happened” he asserted.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has released a report confirming the non-provision of sensitive materials during the congresses.
The report signed by the commission’s administrative secretary in the state, T.O.N Ongele confirmed that the exercise was marred by confusion and controversies as reported by those who monitored the exercise.
