My governorship ambtion is in Imo interest – Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Anyanwu has revealed that the interest and welfare of Imolites are the overriding reasons behind his governorship ambition.
Senator Anyanwu made the disclosure while speaking to newsmen at Imo airport on his arrival from South Africa on an official function under the auspices of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream.
The Senator who is a frontline aspirant in the PDP guber primaries explained that his decision to join the race was borne out of the desire to salvage the situation in the state in the face of hopelessness and
despair.
He said “I joined the race due to pressure from well meaning citizens of the State to come and offer my services to the good people of Imo State. My ambition is for the people, and not for any other reason. “I have already made up my mind to go back to the Senate before the pressure became too much” Senator Anyanwu enthused.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privilege and Public Petitions however stated that the call for Owerri
zone to occupy the seat of power in the State come 2019 can only be achieved with the mutual cooperation of Orlu zone and Okigwe zone.
“I know that Owerri zone has a justifiable demand for this governorship position but the truth is not this demand may not be realised if Owerri Zone does not negotiate with Orlu and Okigwe zone”.
Senator Anyanwu informed that his ambition is not a do or die affair but only to served the people of the State with the experience he has gained over the years. He explained that PDP is one big family where the
diverse interests of members are accomodated.
The PDP governorship aspirant appealed to party members to eshew acts capable of causing disaffection in the party because the task of winning the general elections need the cooperation of all members.
Senator Anyanwu challenged the leaders of the party to provide a level playing ground for the party candidates to emerge.
