2019 Poll: Ihedioha, Okey Ezeh Clash

It was a gathering of the academia of Mbaise nation weekend during the summit of Mbaise Circle of Academia, an umbrella body of sons and daughters of Mbaise in academics but, midway into the event politics and politicking took centrestage and eventually headlined it.

Prominent sons of the area who are gunning for governorship seat of the state, namely Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Mr Okey Ezeh were the cynosure of all eyes on that day as they clashed over who’s best for the state.

According to the ex deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in response to the paper delivered by Sir Mike Ahamba SAN, Mbaise and Imo State need not look further for someone would bring dividends of democracy because he is dividends of democracy personified

Hon Ihedioha who went on the buttress his claims with his achievements in the House of Representatives also called on his brothers who are eyeing the guber seat to support him.

He said ” my brother Frank Nneji you have done excellently well in business and to prove it you have bagged national honours of Member of Order of Niger OON and to my brother Okey Ezeh you have also proven yourself in the corporate world but you have to now learn how to carry bag in politics. For me I have bagged Commander of Niger CON in politics and I think am most suited for the job come 2019″.

But, responding Mr Okey Ezeh of APGA told Ihedioha that the mess in which Gov Rochas Okorocha has allegedly plunged the state into can only be cleared by an extraordinary technocrat and not a politician.

He said as governor Hon Ihedioha would depend on allocation and Internally Generated Revenue IGR which he argued would not be enough to revive the state to run its affairs.

According to him relying on those two financial inflows would be grossly inadequate to address the alleged monumental rot in the system stressing that only a technocrat who knows how to add value can save the state from total collapse next year.

The frontline guber hopeful in APGA stated further that he has sat down to analyse and draw up a roadmap for the state pointing out that his blueprint would salvage the state if implented.
